A new generation of tenants at 1616 Center

When it delivered late last year, 1616 Center addressed two needs in South End — creative office space and ground-floor shops. Designed by David Furman, the 76,000-square-foot mixed-use project, developed by Charlotte-based Beacon Partners, was envisioned as a unique product that would visually reflect the neighborhood’s dynamic character and serve a need in the market. The building quickly leased up.

The five-story building sits at one of South End’s prime intersections, next to Price’s Chicken Coop at Camden Road and Kingston Avenue. Adding to its value is its proximity to the LYNX Blue Line, steps away from the building’s front door and an easily marketable amenity for retail and office tenants alike.
