Axiom Architecture is working with LMC to bring a new community to the upper peninsula area in Charleston, South Carolina. Located near the intersection of Meeting Street and Morrison Drive, and across the street from a future transit station, this building will continue the transformation of a formally industrial area into a thriving neighborhood with easy access to Historic Charleston. New street level public plazas will invite visitors to stop a while and enjoy signature restaurants and boutique retail that will occupy the ground floor. Above that, residents will enjoy the use of multiple elevated terraces, including a pool terrace and two roof terraces, all three with views of downtown Charleston and the nearby Cooper River with its iconic bridge. The building aesthetic will carefully craft a mix of a historic warehouse typology referencing Charleston’s past with a more modern and sleek veneer invocative of Charleston’s future.

This building will be Type III and Type IA construction, with five floors of wood framed residential units over three stories of concrete mixed use, including a garage, commercial spaces, and additional apartments. The community is slated to open for residents in 2020.
