Charleston, SC

Axiom Architecture worked with LMC/Quarterra to bring this new development to the upper peninsula area in Charleston, South Carolina. Located near the intersection of Meeting Street and Morrison Drive, and across the street from a future transit station, this building will continue the transformation of a formally industrial area into a thriving neighborhood with easy access to Historic Charleston. New street-level public plazas with fountains and public art invite visitors to stop for a while and enjoy signature restaurants and boutique retail that will occupy the ground floor. Above that, residents enjoy the use of multiple elevated terraces, including a pool terrace and two roof terraces, all three with views of downtown Charleston and the nearby Cooper River with its iconic bridge. The building aesthetic carefully crafts a mix of historic warehouse typology referencing Charleston’s past with a more modern and sleek veneer invocative of Charleston’s future.

This building is Type III and Type IA construction, with five floors of wood-framed residential units over three stories of concrete mixed-use, including a garage, commercial spaces, and additional apartments. The building opened to its first residents in early 2023.
