The Byrum apartments project will bring 286 new residential units to the up-and-coming Innovation Quarter neighborhood of Winston-Salem, NC. The 4-story apartment building will have a mix of 1- and 2-bedroom units. The units will be situated around three separate courtyards. The main, central courtyard will give residents access to a pool and grilling stations with an adjacent interior lounge and cantina, with roll-up garage doors opening on to the pool deck. The other two courtyards will provide passive recreational activities. Residents will have access to ground-floor amenities fronting Martin Luther King Jr Drive, such as fitness and yoga rooms, a coworking area, and a pet spa with an adjacent pet park. The apartment building is supported by an internal, 4-story precast parking deck with access off Ivey Avenue. Ground-floor leasing offices will also be located off Ivey Avenue adjacent to the parking deck entrance. The residential units will be built as Type VA wood-framed construction. Construction is anticipated to begin in late 2023.
